  A woman travels to an isolated cabin where she finds herself stalked by an apparition who has come to inhabit her space as his own. With the unexpected arrival of the woman's boyfriend, the dark spirit's haunting grows more obsessive.   Lark, 17, recently broke up with her boyfriend Chris and discovers her mom is dating a man named Mark Frank. Lark and her friend Nicole find an online threat from a "Mark Frank" and soon a Jane Doe is found dead. Lark and her reluctant guidance teacher, Jack, confirm the victim is the one threatened by MF. Fortunately, it's not the same Mark Frank her mom is dating. Lark, using a burner phone, messages MF, threatening to expose him. MF discovers her identity, kidnaps her friend, and demands a trade for evidence. At the meeting, MF ambushes Lark, who stabs him and flees. Her friend's body is later found in a school pool. Lark then meets her mom’s beau and realizes he is the killer. She escapes, finds Jack dead, and is captured by MF. Before he can kill her, Chris and his MMA team rescue her, beating MF. Lark escapes again, but MF manages to flee. Driving into the forest, Lark sees MF’s eyes in the rearview mirror; he's right behind her.
